Accessibility
Last reviewed [EFFECTIVE DATE]
We want Jiyn, its website, desktop app and browser extension, to be usable by everyone. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we've done
- Text and buttons meet WCAG AA colour contrast.
- Everything can be used with a keyboard, with visible focus outlines and a “Skip to content” link.
- Animated typing demonstrations are described in text for screen readers, and animation is turned off if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Form fields and controls have labels; toggles announce their state.
- The apps follow your system's light or dark mode, and text can be zoomed.
- Pause and stop typing at any time with buttons or keyboard shortcuts.
Known limitations
- The live typing previews update rapidly and are best followed visually; the same information (progress, words typed, time left) is shown as text.
- Charts in History & stats have a table view for screen-reader users.
